Nature of Work


Under general supervision will assimilate pertinent information and statistical data to result in quarterly and annual reporting to stakeholders;  Cabinet Secretary, State Legislature and Governor's office.  Reporting will be accomplished through the comprehensive review of all autopsy files, law enforcement records, death certificates and other source documents related to violent death.  Attend local state and national training conferences, morning briefings, as well as relevant monthly meetings. Collaborate with fatality and mortality programs to create effective database program spreadsheets to capture and report incidences, circumstances, and logistical information relating to violent death.  Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Training: Master's degree in epidemiology, public health, biology, physical, behavioralnatural, or veterinary sciences from an accredited college or university.
OR 
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with state licensure and three years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in conducting epidemiology.

Substitution: Bachelor's degree in biology, physical, behavioralor natural sciences from an accredited college or university, AND two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in conducting epidemiology, including disease investigation, risk assessment or environmental epidemiology may substitute for the required training.
