Account Director/ Sr Account Director, Business Development (Real-world Evidence/Non-interventional Studies) - US, Remote
Join Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., a global leader in scientific research and innovation, as a Senior Account Director in our Business Development team. This role offers an outstanding opportunity to work remotely while making a real impact in the field of Real-world Evidence (RWE) and Non-interventional Studies (NIS). We are looking for ambitious and proven professionals who are ready to drive our RWE and market access advisory team to new heights.
Essential Functions:
- Spearhead new business development and customer growth across a set of pharmaceutical/biotech clients, aiming to grow the pipeline and achieve authorization targets.
- Collaborate with account team and SMEs to build strategic account plans, understanding client needs.
- Foster relationships with partners, customers, and team members. Share insights on industry trends and PPDβs capabilities.
- Lead cross-functional teams of SMEs to promote PPDβs full range of products and services.
- Collaborate in the development of proposals and client presentations, lead bid defense meetings, and support contract negotiations for new business growth.
- Maintain SalesForce (CRM) with attention to detail and rigorous documentation field.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic/vocational qualification.
- 5-10 years of experience selling real-world solutions and consultancy services to medical affairs, safety, clinical development, market access, and HEOR clients.
- Solid understanding of the principles of drug development and lifecycle, biopharma/biotech priorities, and related needs.
- Experience with the Challenger Sales Model highly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- A solid understanding of RWE/RWD trends and advancements.
- Demonstrated experience in identifying and developing sales leads, making professional presentations, managing the sales process, and handling contract negotiations.
- Project management success across multi-disciplinary teams.
Working Conditions and Environment:
- Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment.
- Occasional drives to site locations with occasional travel (25-50%) both domestic and international.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Frequently stationary for 6-8 hours per day.
- Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.
- Frequent mobility required.
- Occasional crouching, stooping, bending, and twisting of the upper body and neck.
- Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moves) objects including luggage and laptop computer with a maximum lift of 15-20 lbs.
- Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf.
- Communicate information clearly; listen and understand spoken ideas.
- Frequently interacts with others to acquire or relate information to diverse groups.
- Works independently with little mentorship or reliance on oral or written instructions and plans work schedules to meet goals. Requires multiple periods of intense concentration.
- Performs a wide range of variable tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions with little predictability as to the occurrence. Ability to perform under stress. Ability to multi-task.
