Responsibilities

The High Risk Infection Prevention Specialist position requires mastery in knowledge of the risk of infection in the high risk patient populations which includes neonates, surgical, intensive care, oncology and transplant patients. This position requires independent critical thinking and excellent decision making skills which allow quick communication of findings with leadership and implementation of action plans. This High Risk Infection Prevention Specialist communicates with and directs leadership, staff, and physicians in processes to maintain and improve patient/staff safety and the prevention of transmission of infection.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Must be a licensed registered nurse.
  • Certification in infection control (CIC) thru the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc. (CBIC) within 3 years of employment.
  • Five (5) years healthcare related experience with identified high risk population or Infection Prevention experience.

Work Hours:

7:30 AM-4 PM
